Power outage

The power went out for about 5 hours. It just came back on. Although I wouldn't be surprised if it went out again. It's above freezing now, so the snow is melting and branches are falling onto power lines. Although I don't know what caused this power outage, I bet that's what did. So I played my game.com. First I played Sonic Jam. You can't see anything. Then I switched to Tiger Casino. While it's fun, I grew tired of it. So I switched to Scrabble. I beat the Advanced mode by about 10 points or so. First I thought I was doomed when the computer used all its letters in one turn (which Scrabble players know net you 50 extra points!), but then I tried to but the computer challenged my word and I lost the challenge and a turn. But then I came right back and used all my letters in one turn also, which was how I beat the stupid thing. Me and mom played Scrabble earlier with a real board. I beat her by 100. Then I played my game.com. Took a couple of walks in the snow to check things out. Then I cleaned my room. It's still a horrid mess, but it's a cleaner horrid mess. So if I'm away for a lengthy time again, you can just assume the power went out again. Or I went to sleep.

Up here in Ontario there was a major ice storm just before Christmas. Lots of damage to trees and power lines; both because of the trees falling on them and the ice itself. Some people were without power for weeks. (I was lucky, I only lost power for an hour or two.) How long you were out depended upon what the problem was. Stuff which affected whole neighborhoods & communities was fixed first (especially if it also affected a hospital). But if a tree pulled the wires away from where they entered your house then it took much, much longer.
