Less Monster, More Ape
So I'm really getting into the Monster and the Ape serial. Chapter 2 was extremely short, so I watched chapter 3 after chapter 2. I'll watch chapter 4 tonight. Chapters 2 & 3 have more of the huge ape and less stuff about the robot, but the evil guys are still trying to get their hands on the extremely rare metal that runs it. This found me asking tons of questions, like how does the main guy keep getting out of disasters unscathed. He got thrown off a cliff twice, once in a car. He got burned in a vat of sparks. Chapter 3 ends with the guy being thrown into a room of fire via conveyor belt. If he comes out alive, this will be completely unbelievable. And second, why make the robot run on an extremely rare metal? Why not just use batteries? Or were they not around back then? Surely there would be a better power source. Coal? Electricity? Not metalogen. Ugh. At least the parts with the guy in the ape costume are funny. Or am I the only one that enjoys watching monkeys run amok? Perhaps that's why I like the Planet of the Apes movie.
