My news magazines
In 2000, I really liked to make news magazines. Some were humorous, others were not, but if it happened in 2000, I probably had it in one of my various newsmagazines I had made. I turned 18 on November 2, 2000. I don't remember if I voted in that years' election, though. Anyway, one of my semi-humorous newsmagazines was called "Time to Fart," a parody of Time magazine. The one I found is 14 pages and is dated June 30, 2000. The cover story is about Elian Gonzalez (remember him? He's 20 years old now. I wonder what he's doing...) but the biggest article was a 3-page look at pornography called "F-Commerce." No, sadly there was no example of porn (although looking back, there should have been.) This whole plane disappearance has made me decide to bring back Time To Fart after a 14-year absence and only 2 issues (at least I remember a second issue, although I can't seem to find it.) The thing had local news, too. A water main break that "killed 0 people." That's the type of magazine it was. Silly but at the same time serious. So I wrote a two-page article about the plane crash, although I bet it will be expanded by the time I am done. Just for this blog entry, we'll call this issue 1. I don't know when I will be done with it, but I will post it on the net when I'm finished. It will have a few fake ads from fake local businesses to fill up space. Here's what was in the 2000 issue I found. page 2 - fake ad from PetStupid. Page 3 - contents. pages 4-6 F-commerce. page 7 - mapping our DNA. page 8 - local news. pages 9-10 water main break. pages 11-12 Elian Returns Home. page 13 - calendar and next issue, where I looked at the then-new show called "Survivor." page 14 - more fake ads.
Well, I hope to have this new issue done by the end of March. And I can tell you that the next issue will be all about the Ukraine crisis.
