Time's fun when you're biting flies
I haven't been on here much lately. Most of my time now is spent sleeping. I sleep because I'm sleepy most of the time. When I'm awake, I devote my time to video games. I've been working on Insecticide again, I've picked it up again. Added Meleedy-Bug's bite animation. I think I'll speed it up because it looks slow right now. Up next is Superfly's special move. Flies use acid to dissolve their food, I've been told, so this smart fly has decided to use his acid in the fight. I think I've used too much room in the main fighting code part, so I had to speed up the music so it matches the speed of the fighter select screen. When all the special moves are put in, maybe I'll go back and see what I can do to improve it. I bet there's a lot. I had a lot of trouble with Meleedy-Bug's special move since it involves body animation instead of the three previous bugs, which used leg or wing animation. The legs (and wings) are on a different level so they can easily be moved without moving the body anywhere. I discovered that the code that flips the insect when he's facing left is a little messed up, so I had to do some weird things to get Meleedy-Bug to look right when biting left. But I eventually solved the problem and I think I know what to do the next time a bug's special move involves body movement. I last worked on this a month ago. I didn't think it was that long ago. I want to finish this by August 2015, the Virtual Boy's 20th anniversary month, so I have a year left. Moving at this rate, by the end of summer, I will have put in all the bug's special moves. Looks like I need to work faster and not forget about this game for too long if I want to meet my self-imposed 8/2015 deadline.
