Commodore Chicken Lips...

Crazy Climber

blog-0932309001410291013.jpgOne day while machining parts for a Fire station that consisted of Red, White and blue I had an idea that was a no brainer....a Commodore logo! I just love this logo and no other system (that I never owned back in the day) gives me the nostalgia this one does, especially just looking at the logo. Thats right, I never owned a Commodore growing up. I wanted a C64 badly but my parents figured I was just a little too young to spend that kind of dough on a "calculator" which yes, besides gaming is probably all I would have used it for, lol, ok they were right ;)

A good friend of mine growing up had a Commodore and we spent lots of time playing it. It's funny how non judgmental kids are. This friend of mine had tourette syndrome and I never even noticed until I got older and thought about it. I asked my Mom a few years back if my suspicion was correct and she was shocked I never noticed, sometimes it good to think more like a kid and less like an adult :) I try to live my life that way, well, except I do rather enjoy an adult beverage!

Later on around the High School era I did get an Amiga 500, while it was awesome, I still remember that feeling of playing a Commodore 64. Oh man, waiting for that tape to load!!! The excitement would just tear me apart!! I own one now and mainly just play the homebrews, there is a pretty active scene for it and some of them are really good!

Here is the sign I made, kind of funny, I didn't even need to look at a picture since I have that logo just etched in my memory forever, lol

I did add a machined aluminum border just to give it that little something extra

The pieces are all machined composite aluminum "stacked" and attached together

Overall I was happy with the outcome and probably the least effort I have ever had to put into a sign. Looks great next to my homebrews :)
