2014 ends on a lemon note.
One thing kept bothering me about the Larry the Lemon title screen: Sometimes the title screen goes completely blank because the PF color is the same as the BG color and the scorecolor. So I set out to change that. The first attempt ended in complete disaster. So I gave up. A few hours later, I decided to try again. This went much better and I think I did it. While I was at it, I thought I would change the score font to make it thicker and hopefully more readable. The 0 I decided is a lemon standing sideways. You know, for Larry. So now, when you get to the title screen for the first time, there's 4 lemons in the score. They're actually 0s. Speaking of zeroes, I have 0 bytes left. But that doesn't mean I can't change anything. My 2600 is behaving better and not resetting when I flip the b&w/color switch. But I do have some bad news for those who love the color green: It's not making an appearance in the game at all. Mainly due to the way I coded the random bg colors to be the same as the pf color. I tried to make a better song for the title screen, but I tried and gave up. I got Kolibri in the mail today. I overpaid but it was the cheapest one I've seen in a while, so I just bit the bullet and bought it. I see that Pitfall for the 32X is one of the rarest titles. I also dabbled a bit in Insecticide, "cleaning up" code. So hopefully 2015 will be the year of the lemon and this game will get released. I wanted Explosive Diarrhea to have a title screen song, but space didn't allow for that. I wanted it to be a 2k game. I don't know why I have an obsession about 2k games. Oh, and I think I got my first Atari 2600 in 2005, so this will mark my tenth anniversary of Atari 2600 ownership. But not the first one I had. It went to that great Atari service station in the sky. But thankfully, I have another one, and yet another one in case this one I'm using goes kaput on me.
