Quick Brown Fox

So I just got the Commodore 64. I've always wanted one ever since Dad sold ours for a boring PC with Windows 3.1. I also saw a Vectrex at the store, too, but it wasn't for sale yet. Something tells me it's going to be pretty pricy when it finally goes up. Anyway, I got this Commodore 64 machine at the store today. One lousy game was with it. And it isn't even a game. It's a word processor. Reading about it, you can apparently save your document to a tape, but I didn't even get a tape machine or a disk machine. Just the bare-bones keyboard, so all I will be doing and reviewing in this new category is cartridge games. The name of the cartridge is "Quick Brown Fox," probably from the pangram "the quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog." And it's a brown cartridge. Seems fitting. A pretty boring display. Black screen with white letters. As a test, I typed in "this is stupid." Well, it works. Stupid, but works. So I took the cartridge out and played around with the blue screen. I typed in 10 print "this is stupid." Then Run. Lo and behold, the words "this is stupid" popped up on the screen. And apparently cartridges are scarce on eBay. The cheapest ones start at $7, and most of them are untested, because, let's face it, who has a Commodore 64 in 2015? So I bought Kindercomp, a game I played around with as a very young kid. I downloaded a Commodore 64 emulator a few years back, and Kindercomp wasn't as much fun as I thought it was. But I'll review that game if I get it in working condition once it arrives. I didn't know the power brick was so heavy and big and had the Commodore logo on it. But, you know, at least it works.
