This Is How We Do It
So I finally took the time (a few hours!) to figure out how to make a disk file using an existing one I made work last year. And this time I wrote down the instructions. In fact, if my computer dies and I'll have to get a new one, or if you want to know how to do it or how I did it, I'll post it here too. So I have finally done it. I've made an entry for this year's ABBUC 10-liners competition. I e-mailed it in, so it should come up on the thread soon. I was playing around with the .atr file of all the entries, and it was amazing what people could do in just 10 lines. There was this maze game that was very fun. My game (Catch) not so fun, but hey, I think I did pretty good this year with what I know about TurboBASIC programming (next to nil.) So here is a picture of my entry. It's called "Get!" and it's basically Alien Greed, on the Atari 8-bit, using Turbo Basic, using only 10 lines. As you can see, it's a lovely shade of green. I was fiddling around with the colors (there seems to be no list of what value is what color anywhere) and I stumbled upon this one, and I thought it looked good. Plus, you can play it on St. Patrick's Day to celebrate. There is one bug, though, and I don't know why it happens, but it's non-game-breaking, so I left it in. If you press down and the game over message appears, the X will move down a line. Not very much of a bug, and you probably wouldn't have noticed it had I not told you about it. Now I'll to play the other 2015 entries so far.
