lengthy code
So I was cleaning up my Stickman code a little, deleting unnecessary blank lines and stuff. It totaled out to 1,218 lines of code. But probably half of that is blank lines i use to separate stuff, so it's probably more like 600 lines of ACTIVE code. Which one of the longest games I've worked on had 4,000 + lines of code uncleaned. That would be the Celery thing. I guess I should be amazed. But not all that amazed because I just keep adding stuff in day by day and when you do that, gradually your program gets more and more lines of code. Stickman I've been working on for about 2 months now. I am having a problem with it on real hardware though. The sound sometimes is sticky. Like a short "beep" ends up being 4 or more seconds long, even longer if you don't move. I wonder if there's a way to mute the sound. I was experimenting today, adding various sounds and how they would affect the game. At one point, I had thud sounds for erasers hitting their high and low points. But because there's 7 of them, the thud sound was almost constant. Not good. I'm sticking to right now having a short beep for each line you cross, a special sound for completing a page, and another special sound for dying. I got rid of the Stickman footsteps sound. I didn't seem to like it very much. There's not much left to do at this point except fix the sound problem and create new speeds for new levels. And probably a few bug fixes along the way. Like today, I noticed that the hundreds score wasn't changing when you got >99 points. I think I fixed that problem. I also centered the score a little more. Yeah, just little things like that. It's raining again. And when the weather gets lousy, I feel lousy. I still want to go back to sleep, but if you sleep 24 hours a day, you miss out on life. Funny (and stupid) how that works.
