Tonight I was talking to another Bubsy fan and as we were talking he said "By the way, I know it's old news, but did you hear that Bubsy's creator, Mike Berlyn is currently battling cancer? Really horrible to hear. Mike created many fine games in his day. I've been meaning to read his books, too."
Actually I did not know that. I have searched around the internet tonight to see how Mike is coming along. The last bit of news was in June of this year. There was a GoFundMe campaign, but that link has expired. Did he reach his goal? I don't know.
Mike, if you see this, I speak for all Bubsy fans, because I know there are many who have enjoyed your work on Bubsy (and the Infocom games) that we hope you heal up and have a full recovery!

While Bubsy hasn't been around for a number of years, many gamers are still aware of the character's legacy. That character was created by Michael Berlyn, and unfortunately Mr. Berlyn has some bad news to report. Michael has stated that he has cancer...and even worse, he lost his insurance and needs to pay $36k in medical costs. There was a GoFundMe campaign to help Mr. Berlyn, but it seems to be closed for the moment. Thanks to Bellboy for the heads up.

It is the Japanese Mountain Cat version of Bubsy comforting the American Bobcat version of Bubsy.
