Biting off more pineapple than I can chew?
So my main reason for wanting to program Pineapple 64 was because the Virtual Boy needed a game where you explore stuff. Seeing as how there was no Legend of Zelda for it. I don't think I would enjoy a game like that unless I made it. I don't know, I guess it's just because I hate challenges. I want everything to be easy all the time. Unfortunately, as a novice video game programmer, that can't be true. Nevertheless, I am still working on this. I figured out how to add collision detection to the trees, house, and fence. I even wrote a song for the first level. I made a webpage where you can download the latest version of it. But I don't know how big to make the levels or the whole game. It's still just one screen big, but I am going to expand the level next and make another screen. I also don't know what to make the game like. I'd like it to be more platformer than RPG, like Super Mario 64 or something, only with original Game Boy-Zelda-like graphics. But we shall see as I delve deeper in the making of this game. I also don't know how to go about programming different levels, like storing the screens data and then calling some when needed. Anyway, here's a link to the official "Pineapple 64" website: http://www.atari2600land.com/pineapple64/
