Silence is Golden
So I figured out how to mute sounds on the Game Boy when I want them to be. Turns out I had to write to all four sound registers in order to change one. Which is kind of stupid, but apparently that's how it's done because it works. Spent some time trying to get a hi-hat cymbal type sound on the title screen song since the song's three bass notes sounded weird and off place. I put a little percussion in there to put the bass notes in context.
Although I am kind of worried since Oranges was about 1,000 lines of code. I just got started with Ten Pest and I'm already 1/3 of that way there. But anyway, there still needs to be a ton of work done before you can shoot the aliens. You can shoot in the game, but there's no alien UFOs to shoot at. I even added a shooting sound the ship makes when it shoots. I also quit being lazy and made the Ten Pest website so you can download the game if you're curious as to what I'm talking about.
Work on the game has stopped for today. You can view the Ten Pest website here. I tested how the thing sounds on my Game Boy Color. Sounds radically different than an emulator. So anyway, that's what I've been doing this morning. Besides being in the bathroom because my stomach hurts. But that's another story.
