They way records were (not) verified in the past and even entered by the players themselves invalides all records there. So a complete database reset and adding only clearly verified records is IMO the only way to gain back credibility.

I think that for the old (pre-emulation) scores, it would be interesting to keep them around as historical artifacts, but not list them as part of the verified "official" scores.
