Some kind person on the Game Boy programming forum I go to was kind enough to help me out on my game. He debugged it and found what I think was the problem. I changed one line (yes, one) of code, and played it for 15 minutes. The problem did not pop up. Went to sleep, woke up about a few hours ago (12:45pm. I was so sleepy. I couldn't get to sleep until about 1am last night.) and tested it out again on real hardware for a few minutes. Still no problem.
Unless someone reports a bug, I think I'm calling the game finished. Now that it is finished, though, I need label art for it. Would any of you like to help design the label for it? I'll give you a free copy. And that guy who was kind enough to help me too. And one for me. So that leaves 7 left for sale, 8 if I have to design the label myself. I said to the guy publishing it that I'd like 10 copies.
It is a shame, though, that the number of stupid, mean people vastly outnumber the number of good, nice people. And it's hot in my room again. Argh. And I wonder why the guy who made the shells for the GB Everdrive took everything off except the word "GAME" at the top. It looks really stupid and unprofessional. Perhaps it's just because I'm used to seeing "Nintendo GAME BOY" up there.
And I played a bit of Wario Land a few nighs ago. That dumb level with the minecarts! BARF! It took about 20 tries for me to finish the stupid thing. Luckily for me I can change the number of lives I have with that code, or else I would have had a game over scenario a few times over.
