Composing a symphony
Well, not exactly. Inspired by making MIDIs of other people's long songs, I decided to compose a long song myself. One that's really easy to play and follow along to. So I sat at my piano plunking out notes. Notes, that when played together (chords) sound good or interesting, at least to me. I finished my long MIDI I made of "The Diamond Sea". I sat down and said to myself that I was going to finish all 10 minutes I had left whether my eye hurt or not (it did.)
Anyway, you can follow along as I am composing this long song I'm making. Since I just started, it's under a minute long now, but come tomorrow night, I'll be back at my keyboard, doing the same thing again, adding to what I have. What I want to do is make three of them and put them together in an album. Two of the songs will be about 30 minutes long, and the other about 20, so all three can fit on one CD.
So, MIDIs, CDs, yeah. I'm really new-technology-y. But they say, "if it feels good, do it." and I guess as long as I'm on this planet, I should be happy about it. Using my MIDI software is a pain, though. And really stupid. One page of sheet music in pdf form is 200KB. Really? Does it really need to be that big? I can't imagine the size of the thing when I'm done with it. Ah well. The second song will be called "Music To Clip Your Toenails By." What's the first one called? Download it and find out. And play it on your piano.Or at least listen to the groovy MIDI I'm making.
