Good thing this Popeye game didn't release or I would be disapointed.

I was expecting a Nintendo version of Popeye, not this one.

 

There are no screenshots in Funcoland catalogues or I won't order it in the first place.

Oh, I didn't check the developer/publisher. Perhaps there was another Popeye game planned, but scrapped. It doesn't seem that Nintendo has developed any more Popeye games since the two they made for Famicom/NES in 1983.

 

I saw notes about some other Popeye games never released outside of Japan due to licensing issues, whether it refers to software licenses or use of the characters. Perhaps laws regarding intellectual properties work differently in Japan, making it possible to obtain inexpensive licensing as long as one doesn't spread your work outside of the country?
