Isn't C already an option for the Colecovision, as opposed to directly coding in Z80 assembly language? Also I believe Boriel's ZX BASIC supports Colecovision as a target, though perhaps with fewer resources available to the programmer.

Yes, it is an option. One of my biggest concern is that Java and the current tool will work under Window 10. I rely on these tool to produce the games. And I don't want him to get frustrated. It is easier in C, and the tool make it easier to compile, link and boot bluemsx in a window. I may put up newcoleco dev kit later on since that is hard to find on the interweb.
