Rules to buy a new video game system

I follow my rules when it's time to buy a new video game system.

1 - The system must be good and available in almost stores.

2 - The games I want so hard to play it.

3 - The games must be physical, not digital.

I bought Atari Lynx just to play Ms Pac-Man. The Gameboy version was not available yet.

Luckily, I also bought later, S.T.U.N. Runner, Steel Talons and Lemmings. They are all great on the Lynx.

In 2018, I bought New Nintendo 3DS, just to play Minecraft.

Ok. I know Minecraft is also available on PC but in digital only. That's why I bought New 3DS and the game.

Luckily, I also enjoy Etrian Odyssey games, The legend of Zelda: Ocarina of time. They are all great.

Recently, I follow Intellivision Amico, a family video game system. It uses the same kind of controller likes the original Intellivision released in 1979 except, it has four buttons and a touch screen likes Nintendo DS and mobiles/tablets for additional experiences.

I'm not sure if I like playing with this kind of controller. I maybe need to play it for a while if there are Amico booths at the stores.

None of the Amico games at the launch would make me to buy the system at the moment.

A family system means games will be for everyone without any blood, swearing or other things it would not appropriate for kids.

Mortal Kombat series would probably out of question on that system.

Ok. I need to wait until Amico is released in 2020 to decide if I buy it or not.

My problem with buying a new console is I already have numerous devices and a library of games to play on them (and more available at low or no cost).

I will say that # 3 shouldn't be a deal breaker unless you live somewhere where internet is expensive or unavailable.  The question is whether the game can be played offline.

The problem with digital is: if your device breaks and lose your games and they are no longer available online, you lost them forever. Mostly if you paid $75-$100 for a digital game.

With physical games, you can install them over and over.
