George

The result of a dream I had and about 7 hours of trying to get it on to the Atari 2600. I don't know what to do with this, so I am putting it here. What do you think?

George has just crash-landed on the planet Xarksljfjsdhgjhd. You know the planet, the one where the toxic grass grows. And the ones with incredibly winding paths.

This is by far the most trouble I've ever had with anything 2600 Basic related. And I need to make all the future playfields in a really awkward way (but it works. I used the method in Castle of Doom.)

What I have here would be level 1. If I were to continue, I would definitely add some title screen and level 1 music. This would be kind of like my Plim game where there would be different stuff to do. Only better. The zip file contains the program along with the bB code I used to make it. Hopefully it will be of some use to someone.

I see that you follow the scrolling maze down and back up again until George escapes. Are you planning some more depth after that, or just another maze possibly with items and enemies? At first I got a little vibe of a Zelda like RPG but that perhaps was not the intention. Perhaps mazes with multiple cross paths, items located behind obstacles and locked doors that would mean you need to go back and forth to collect items in order to make it all to the end.
