The mystery light gun toy from my childhood
After recording the episode, I decided to start looking through some old catalog scans on wishbookweb.com, I was actually able to find the light gun toy I described, in the 1979 Simpson-Sears Canada Christmas Catalog: the L.A.Z.E.R. Light Star!

Quote

L.A.Z.E.R. Light Star shooting gallery with sound. Projects image of spaceship on your wall by a beam of light. When you make a perfect shot with your Light Fighter, the spaceship explodes. Uses 2 'D' and 2 '9V' batteries (not incl.) $39.99

Hey Shinto!  I missed this episode until I checked here on your blog.  I’m not sure if you’re aware, but this episode is not showing up in the iTunes feed.

However, I downloaded it from here and just listened to it.  Great episode!  It’s so great that you found the light gun toy.  And your analysis of the value of the Atari brand is spot-on.  I have given my family the same advice of, “anything with the Atari logo is good” and therefore I have a wonderful supply of Atari t-shirts and sweatshirts.

I’m looking forward to you next episode, even though Syndicate is not a particular favorite of mine.

Thanks, Troff!  This episode is actually in iTunes, just way way back in 2015.  That's when I originally published it, so I just modified that existing episode entry.  After I published the updated version, I noticed there was no blog entry for this episode, so I added it in.  That's why the blog shows it as new, but iTunes still shows it as pretty old.
