Cruizin' eBay - Jaguar Bubsy Vidpro Card - April 2021

Good morning Bubsy fans!!   Here on April Fools Day we finally got a glimpse of the Jaguar Bubsy VidPro Card.    NO FOOLIN'!  :D

So VidPro cards were this piece of cardboard, about the size of a larger post card, that they would use to display available games, usually at Toys R' Us, but I believe this was also done at Kaybee Toy Stores and a few other places, and this was done in the 80s and into the 90s.   Here we have the Bubsy 1 Postcard sitting among three VidPro cards as a way of comparison.

I remember very fondly looking at a Return to Castle Wolfenstein card a lot at Toys R' Us for the Atari 800 XL when that came out.  Great stuff.   These cards were generally property of the stores and were discarded (HA!) when the game was no longer being sold.  So generally the way these turn up is someone who worked at the stores kept the cards.   Well, can think of other means, but that is how it legally happened.

On AtariAge there was the discussion back in November about the possibly of Vidpro cards for the Atari Jaguar and JagMod was able to confirm with six cards that the cards did in fact happen.   It was at that time that we figured a Bubsy: Fractured Furry Tales card did exist.   I had intended to make a photoshop of what I thought the card would look like, but then this wonderful lot of 22 Jaguar VidPro cards showed up on eBay...

And check it out, in the lower right hand corner... THE JAGUAR BUBSY CARD EXISTS!!!    A bit out of my price range at the moment.

Interesting, there are two versions of the Jaguar VidPro cards... picture and windowed.

Anyway, based on this, there might be TWO versions of the Jaguar Bubsy card, but here is how it would more or less look next to other Bubsy VidPro Cards...

Nice to know there is more merchandise for Bubsy: Fractured Furry Tales.  :D

So that said, I'll go ahead over the Officious Bubsy Fan Group on Discord... er... what is going on?!?

Love April Fools Day!   :D
