A great way to waste time
Let's say you are tired of video games. Then what is a great way to pass the time? Why, making and solving crosswords of course. My grandma got me started and hooked on them. After a few, I decided to try to make some. Not only did I get hooked on solving them, I also got hooked on making them. I like the odd grid shapes of the TV Guide crosswords from their inception to around 1990 when they stopped being so odd and began to "normalize". I began to make weird grid designs, odd placement of black squares (called "blocks"). This is my homage to those old crosswords. Each week, I make my own TV-related crosswords. I decided to let people know because I didn't tell anyone about the site where I keep them all.
I made a lot 6 years ago, and then stopped. I decided to start back up making them again. I try to make the long answers TV related, and then think of TV-related clues to stuff that wouldn't normally be TV-related. For example, ASH is a type of tree, or volcanic output, but is also the name of the main protagonist of the Pokemon anime. I know even though I've never played Pokemon. I know from all that reading of Nintendo Power as a teen.
You may wonder why I know how old TV Guide crosswords used to look. I used to get issues of "TV Guide Crosswords" (there is such a publication) and in one section they reprint really old crosswords in it. I also own a couple of TV Guide issues from the 1980s, and the crossword designs in them are really far out.
The only thing I did to Jack and the Beanstalk yesterday was add a thud noise whenever Jack hit a wall. I tried for a bit to improve the collision detection, but I failed.
