One year later

So, I've been blogging for an entire year now.

Funny, I've got quite a few less than 365 entries. I've been a little hit and miss in terms of consistency, but I figure that it's an easy standard to live up to, so why change? So look for more of the same in the coming year!

Anyway, I've been making some progress on the Four-Play manual. I won't be able to work on it much over the next couple of days, since I'm teaching tomorrow (and still putting together tomorrow's lecture - students aren't the only ones who procrastinate). After that, I'm hoping to get the manual wrapped up. I don't have to teach the following Monday because it's indigenous Columbus day (or whatever). So that may give me a chance to catch up on a few more projects, and maybe get a little bit ahead in writing up my lectures. Hope so.

And since it's October again... that means only one thing: Baskin-Robbins' Pumpkin Pie ice cream.

Definitely need to pick up some of that good stuff. Oh yes.

November though... that's going to be an expensive month. Amazon is going to be getting a bucket-load of my money...

Speed Racer vol. 5 on DVD

The Complete Peanuts: vol. 3

The Complete E.C. Segar Popeye: vol 1

Looney Tunes Golden Collection: vol. 4 on DVD

Police Squad: The Complete Series on DVD (It's about time!!)

Cars: Widescreen Edition on DVD

And maybe even: Star Trek: The Animated Series on DVD

Yikes. Maybe I'd better start making up a Christmas List... :-o

I knew you had a .edu email, but didn't realize you were an instructor. We have something in common then, as I just started teaching Introduction to C Programming at Sacramento State this fall.

I'll have to check out the pumpkin pie ice cream too. Recently I've discovered Double Rainbow ice cream, which is sold at Trader Joes. :lust:

Cool. Teaching is one of the most/least rewarding jobs I've had. "Most" in that it's really cool when you see a student understand something all of the sudden. "Least" happens when they don't even bother trying.

I've only started teaching again this Fall. Last time I taught was probably '97 or '98. Somewhere in there. I'm starting to get back into it though. My lecture went fine Monday... until the power went out. Not terribly helpful during a computer class.

Back to the important topic though: I picked up a quart of the Pumpkin Pie ice cream the other day. Haven't had any yet, but soon... oh yes... very soon. (It tastes really good if you have a scoop of chocolate with it.) :lust:

My least favorite part about teaching is probably giving grades. I think it takes the fun out of learning. I've explained to my students that people have been teaching for 100,000's of years, but grades are only about 200 years old. (Teaching is the real "world's oldest profession".)

Again, back to the important topic. I tried some pumpkin pie ice cream from a local producer, and I understand exactly what the fuss is about. :lust:
