I no longer have my PS1, but I think it had the funky colors.

 

Game-wise, I don't have my list here, but GranTurismo 1 & 2 are winners (although you can't actually finish GT2, since there's a bug in it), as are Driver 1 & 2 (Driver 2 is a better game - and although it has some insanely difficult levels in it, "free drive" mode is a blast). Also excellent is Nascar Rumble. Tough to find, but well worth it. Almost looks like a PS2 game, and is a lot of fun.

 

Obviously, I'm a little partial to driving games.

I picked up a PSX at a garage sale a while back. Suprisingly, the only game I have for it is "Blues Clues"!

 

I went through the top game list at IGN recently to see what I might want to start hunting for. There are some notable RPGs (FF7 & FF8), but I don't have the time to invest in them. I was thinking about Metal Gear Solid (although my wife would not be happy with me getting another FPS, not matter how good), but then I discovered there's an enhanced version for the GameCube (so I added it to that wish list). The only one left is Castlevania : Symphony of the Night.

All 3 Spyro the Dragon games.

Some games i would recommend to you for the PS1 would be...

1)In the Hunt-Great shoot'em up that more than reminds me of Metal Slug.In this one your a Submarine.

 

2)Raiden Project-Another shoot'em up thats a arcade classic.Best version of the this game is on the PS1.

 

3)Peak Performance-Atlus published racing title.Features Pike's Peak and some pretty big levels.

 

4)PowerSlave-Not only a great Iron Maiden song but a great first person shooter ala Doom.

 

5)Wild Arms-One of better RPGs for the PS1.Mixes 2-D and 3-D graphics.

 

6)Distuptor-This is a first person shooter from the same folks that would go on to make Rachet and Clank for the PS2.

 

7)Evil Zone-3-D fighter with a TV show like opening.Was a $20 title when it came out.

 

8)Zero Divide-3-D fighter with robots.Very cool and often over-looked in my personal opinion.

 

9)Crash Bandicoot Racing-As close as your going to get to Mario Kart on the PS1.The best cart racer for the system.

 

10)RoboPit 1 and/or 2-Build and battle your own cartoonish like robots in 3-D arenas.

 

11)Jumping Flash 1 and/or 2-Control a robot rabbit in huge 3-D levels.Jump insane heights and shoot at enemies.

 

I hope you try some of these games i pick out.I have really enjoyed these in the past.

Thanks for the suggestions! The next time I go to the used video game store, I'll see if they have any you people mentioned.
