Hi there!

 

Based on the feedback from the "failed" experiment, here's two new Galaxy Wars experiments. They both narrow the screen to have only 4 objects visible.

 

This one does 9 Pixel wide attackers with missiles:

This one does 9 Pixel wide attackers with flicker:

Serious offer: If anyone would be interested to try a 1K or 2K compo entry based on these, feel free to do so. I'm not sure if I'll ever continue here, there's way too many too shiny objects in the way ;)

 

A good route to continue might be trying a "ball missile" with Experiment 1, something dead simple like this:

I like the flickerless one better, but either way I think it's a really good start! Hope you can continue work on it - shininess of other things notwithstanding. I don't know if anyone else has the affection for Galaxy Wars necessary to work on it.

Shinier are currently Kick, Qix and Bosconian. I just downloaded Mission 3000 and print out your blog entry plus comments regarding Bosconian, to have some food for thoughts when going offline again for another week :)
