Pennies from Heaven...

...Make that 1 penny from Los Alamitos, California. Not many people know this, but in addition to Atari 2600 collecting, I also collect coins, specifically pennies. The oldest penny I have is from 1838, but that could change because I got back to collecting them again, and here's an ad for an 1822 VG for only $27. The first penny was made around 1792 (should've been a 300th Columbus voyage anniversary coin! ;)) Well, anyway, I'm not one of those people that pay ridiculous prices for them (for instance, in the same ad, it has an 1800 Damage on Face EF for $500. No way in heck am I gonna pay that much for a coin. What really bugs me is that these coin company ads you see in the magazines have a 1-800 # for ordering, but no 1-800 # for asking questions. I'm not going to dial long distance just for a question about one coin (I don't have a question about one coin, but if I did, I'm not gonna pay long distance for it.)

Anyway, one other thing I should mention is I was looking in the classifieds for anything Atari and came across this:

"ventage atari 130xe computer w/many extra,s $200. firm call [phone number]."

That's exactly the way it's put. Does this guy not know about apostrophes? And he spelled 'vintage' wrong. I want to call the guy just to tell him that, but I'm not gonna. What I want to know are: What is an Atari 130XE and how much is one worth?

Hi Chris

The 130 XE is a computer,like the 800 xl,but with 128k.

It is very common.I would py mybe 70 dollars for one,if it is complete in box.

200 might be a high price, but this depends on the "many Extras"

greetings Walter
