Tesserae
Continuing the onslaught of Game Gear reviews (although 2 isn't exactly an onslaught
), Tesserae is an interesting board game. I've had it on the Game Boy for a little while, but I just got it for the Game Gear when I bought the system a week ago, and the definite difference between any Game Boy and Game Gear game is COLOR! Although, in this game, color doesn't really matter like it did in Columns. The game is kind of like Marble Jumper in that you jump over pieces to eliminate them, but the board is filled with them at the beginning, but when you pick a piece to jump, the place you land on should be the same color. The beginner's game is good for beginners like myself. By the way, apparently the ancient Romans used to play this same game (Google "Tesserae" if you don't believe me.) How GameTek found out about this game is beyond me, but it is a cure for the common video game. If you like board games in video games, Tesserae is a good one for the Game Boy or Game Gear.
