Baseball's Back?

Here in Salem, we have two minor league teams. The first, the Salem Stampede, is a minor league basketball team, who in their first few years here, have been sub-par. The second, the Salem-Keizer Volcanoes (the Keizer part is because the stadium is in Keizer), is a minor league baseball team who won the NWL title last year. And with all the talk about baseball being back because of it being spring, I checked the Volcanoes website to see when the season started. Mid-June! Guess it's a few more months 'til baseball comes back (at least for me). And every time a Blazer game is advertised on KGW, I think to myself "Watch the Blazers lose! This (insert day here)!" And since Stampede games aren't televised (KWVT lost them for some reason) and Volcanoes games are broadcast on KYKN radio, I can just tune in for a Volcanoes game and listen to it, at least, during the summer. And, if you want the same ring that the players get for winning the series, they're only $325!

KWVT would love to cover the games find an advertiser or group of advertisers to pay for the production and we will be there. This is the problem at the Salem Stampede we ran 2 or 3 games to show they could be done live (like we did Surge Soccer) with no revenue source. Heck the Surge Soccer was the first LIVE sporting event in Salem since KVDO did Salem Wrestling.

Salem Business NEED a local television station and the people want it but someone has to pay for it. Advertising is a good trade people get to see "stuff" they want to see, advertisers get to pitch their business to these same people and the event get more interest increasing their gate it's a win-win-win. The viewers are there, the events are there where is the business side, advertising to the 50,000 households on Comcast ignoring the 100,000 KWVT serves.

KWVT is willing to push the limits of what can be done for the mid Valley but instead of griping get people interested mainly advertisers tell them you watch tell that your friends watch. If you are on Comcast PUSH them to add KWVT the ONLY station that serves our community.
