Hey gang, it's Monday night, time for Headlines, that is, if Jay Leno is a new one tonight. And apparently the guys from MST3K are reuniting to do a new DVD series about making fun of movies! The first one comes out July 10, and I can't wait! I also getted a couple of DS games, upping the total to 71. I pretty much think I have every significant DS game except for Lost In Blue 1 and Final Fantasy: Chocobo Tales. And I didn't want to reserve the new Pokemon game because I don't know which one to get: Diamond or Pearl? Can't they just make one?! It makes it hard for collectors to release two or more games of the same game (like Nintendogs). But, I doubt there are that many DS collectors now (there will be 20 years from now, I bet.) Good thing Atari didn't have the sense to do that. Imagine Midnight Magic and Noon Magic, exactly the same game, but with different titles and subtle differences. Argh!

Pokemon has always tried to emphasize human interaction & GameBoy connectivity. Thus, if you wanted to collect every Pokemon, you had to cooperate with a friend with the other cartridge.

Oh, well, that makes sense. Gotta catch 'em both, then. But why name them after gems, though? First it was Ruby & Sapphire, now it's Diamond and Pearl. What's next? Turquoise & Emerald?

The first Pokemon games were Red & Green (Japan only), with Blue & Yellow coming later. That was followed by Silver & Gold for the GBC, followed by Crystal and finally Ruby, Saphire and Emerald for the GBA.
