My Gamesroom Part 1
So, I've spent the last month, or two... or three, decorating. The pinnacle of all this hard work is the creation of my gamesroom, something which I've never had room for before. Although it's very far from complete yet, especially as there is very little storage and everything is stacked in a big walk-in cupboard, I've already had my first session. Me and a mate threw down some Dreamcast - the big box in the second picture houses over a hundred games - in the form of Shenmue and 18 Wheeler. The first picture in the gallery is of the entertainment centre, it's actually a galvanized steel modular shelving unit intended for slightly more industrial settings. It looks frickin' cool though, especially with my crystal Xbox and green DC. In the right corner is a CD rack which has a concrete base, and is also steel - I'm particularly keen on it.In between the CD rack and the entertainments centre is the door to the cupboard mentioned earlier. You can see it's rather disheveled contents in the third picture of the gallery. Clipped of at the top of the picture is a several large tupperware-esque plastic stackable storage boxes containing Mega Drive, PSX, Master System, 2600, Jag and Mega CD (aka Sega CD) games. Yet to be moved in are my GBA, NGPC, Lynx, Saturn and DVD collection. Not to mention Samba de Amigo, my MAME PC, iMac, laptop, guitar and books. It's going to be rammed with entertainment. Oh, I'm forgetting the video project and six-foot screen! In the fourth picture you can see the neon-lit Sega sign I bought from a friend, and in the fifth you can see the entertainment centre again and, more clearly than the other photos, the laminate floor that I put down. That was a nightmare I can tell you!So, there is still so much to do - I'd better get moving.
