Let me just tell you a thing or two about my brother. We've been really close for years and shit. We've fought similar battles in life and lived to tell about it. Lately, with all the good shit that's been happening in my life, I've come to influence people a lot lately. As much as I care about my brother, he's been through hell the past 5 years. He's on probation and all. Anyway, we had a long talk after he and my mom got in a really heated argument. Normally, I don't share personal things on here but a lot of the stuff he said afterwards really struck me. It was almost as if he was adimitting that life really did suck for him and he wanted to do something about it. He told me that he was watching how I was doing with my diet and he realized that I wanted to lose weight bad enough and I did it. He wants to improve his life badly and he's not sure how. I told him that he's got to want it bad enough to get it. Whether or not he'll improve his life, is entirely up to him. Things have been difficult lately as someone smashed the window on his car. The sad thing is, it's not the first time it's happened and since he's on probation, he can't even defend himself without going to jail. Things have got to change and if there's anyone out there who likes to pray for random strangers, go ahead and pray for my bro. I just want him to be happy. He has to make that leap of faith himself as neither I, nor our family can help him anymore.

Yeah, family stuff like that is hard. It's really one of those painfull lessons we all learn at some point: you can't change anyone but yourself. I work with people who have disabilities, and there are so many of them who would have so much more happiness in their lives if they just would change something, but it usually doesn't happen. I'm sorry to hear about your brother, that's gotta be rough. Maybe he'll get it one of these days, you know? I have a really awfull grandmother who was nothing but pain and misery for everyone who really turned it around. At 84. Keep your chin up, and I'll put in a word with the Big Guy for your brother.

Thanks for the kind words. I try to worry more about myself than my brother and it works better that way.

 

I'm waiting on a modded 2600 with A/V for him. He expressed interest in owning a 2600 again so I'm trying to get it together for him along with some games and hopefully he'll give me some money for it like he promised. :)
