A heck of a lot of work done today. Did the mosaic logo (by hand :x ) yesterday and, well, everything else today.

I'm calling complete on this, well 1.0 at any rate :) (the repeat logo at the bottom is the end label)

There. I got to do all my favourite mayan bits, the lovely close-tiled mosaic work and their weird almost circuit-like stonework.

Outstanding!

I still think Albert needs to make label art posters available in the store... you never really get to appreciate this kind of artwork at 2.75" x 3.375". Fortunately, it gets printed larger on the manual.

Speaking of which... are you going to show us the manual illustrations next?

Yes, I'd love to see that.

Great job. I love that painting. I'd love to see some posters as well.

Thanks for the kind words guys!

Of course, this blog is far from over. Still got the manual to do and then, well, many other games I expect.

Hmmm. Looking at the label, there's a stone in the bottom right foreground that I'm not at all happy with.

Expect version 1.1 tomorrow

Excellent. But IMO that snake is still missing at least a pair of small teeth at the lower jaw.

I wasn't going to say anything... but also the cobra's hood appears somewhat lopsided. The right side is smaller and lower than the left.

BTW: A review of Sync which praises the label, manual etc. at http://videogamecritic.net/2600ss.htm#Sync

Yeah, but they gave the game a "D".

Of course, they gave Conquest of Mars a "D-", so what does that say?

(And Gingerbread man got a good review, but only a C+.)

The Cobra is intentionally a bit lopsided (in his front teeth as well). This is an ancient evil that's lurked here for a very long time. My first sketches were symmetrical but it just looked too damn healthy.

Regarding the addition of teeth. Yeah, I've looked at a few more photos of cobras. There do seem to be two rear facing, almost transparent, teeth in the lower jaw. I'll be adding those.

It looks fantastic David, I absolutely love it. I wouldn't change a thing. I've been following your progress on the label, I just haven't gotten around to posting until now. Just one minor thing, I'd prefer my name to say "Steve" rather than "Stephen" on the label. Stephen is my given name, but I don't really use it. I'm still waiting to hear from Albert about the availability of the superchip board, so I'm not sure yet when it might be released on cart.

As far as the manual goes, I've got a little more work to do on the text and the game map. I got your private email this morning, I'll send you what I've got very soon, and we can go from there.

Thanks!!!!

Steve
