When I'm not youtubing bands I already know, I'm myspacing bands I don't know

 

These two I found when browsing the "friends" list of Lacrimosa (one of my favourite German bands):

 

1. Snakeskin => http://www.myspace.com/snakeskinofficial

=> Electro / Gothic / Industrial

 

Actually a Lacrimosa sideproject that happened under my radar so far. The two example tunes they showcase on myspace are brilliant dark electro club tunes. I like how they got spiced up by a professional opera singer. Reminds me a bit of the opera scene of "5th Element".

 

2. Saviour Machine => http://www.myspace.com/saviourmachine

=> Progressive / Gothic / Rock

 

A bunch of rather "quiet" tunes you're getting here despite the band tagging themselves as "rock". The demo songs attest an excellent goth singer supporting very atmospheric tunes. Some songs are backed by classic instruments like a piano or by a full orchestra. I like how they do without a female elven voice, which was a bit overdone in the past years for this kind of music IMO (Stay away Liv Kristine! You suck! )

 

Anyway. I'll try and see if I find some CDs of the two, next time I'm shopping for new music
