Supplement Test

I'm doing an experiment with my supplements for a month or two. I'm dropping most of my supplements and changing back to my old chlorella that worked better and taking more of it. So here's what I'll be taking:

Update February 2, 2009:

I started this on Saturday, January 31, 2009 (the day before the Superbowl). So far everything is OK. No signs of anxiety, depression, anger, or the desire to punch someone in the chest and rip their heart out yet. It appears that I'm getting enough of the B vitamins from Nature's Balance Chlorella so far.

Update February 6, 2009:

I had to take a B-Right vitamin B complex a day or two ago because the irritability and urge to crack skulls open was coming back. I'm increasing the chlorella from 9 a day to 16 a day. After a about a week, I'll increase it to 24 a day. That will be around 8 grams of chlorella a day and according to this page, it will be more than a maintenance 'dose.' After reading more about the levels of vitamins and minerals in chlorella, even if I could manage to take 100 grams of chlorella a day, which would be an insane amount, I probably still wouldn't be getting enough of the B vitamins. Looks like I'll have to take B-Right, but I'll only take it as needed (probably every few days or possibly every other day and then every day again if I have to).

Latest Update

I went back to taking my usually supplements including Nature's Way Chlorella since it's cheaper and seems to work good enough. Nature's Balance Chlorella just costs too much and it doesn't seem to be that much better than Nature's Way Chlorella after all.

I'm wary of those things. Hate depending on stuff. Hope it all works out.

Thanks. We all need to eat and get at least a little exercise or we're screwed. We all depend on something.

Even if I could stand to eat and could afford to eat fresh fruits and vegetables every day, I couldn't eat enough of them to get all of the nutrients my body needs each day. I don't mind using certain supplements as long as they don't get too expensive. And if they really can help us avoid or fight off various diseases, including cancer, that's even better.

Hmm... i'm also skeptical about those supplement pills. Do they really have an effect? Would you feel different without taking them?

I either need to take a B complex or enough chlorella (since chlorella has just about everything you would ever need if you take enough of it). If I don't get enough of the various B vitamins every day, my old problems start coming back (anxiety, irritability, the taste for human blood, and so on :) ). It's better to take more chlorella since it's a 'food' and not something a scientist whipped up in a lab.

A certain number of people who are on crazy pills from the doctor are probably on those pills because they're not getting enough of the B vitamins every day. I know a couple of people who would rather take pills from the doctor than take a B complex or chlorella, even after trying them and seeing that they worked. They can get crazy pills cheaper from a pharmacy, so that's what they take. I'm willing to spend the extra cash for a real solution instead of a cheap band aid that has all kinds of side effects and might cause more harm than good in the long term.

Below is a clip from YouTube about chlorella. They talk about chlorella in powder and tablet form, but the tablets I've tried didn't work that great. 'Powder' in a capsule seems to work best for me and the kind from Nature's Balance seems to work better than the capsules from Nature's Way.

Eye doctors told me that I would just have to live with the pain in my eyes, but when I tried Nordic Naturals Cod Liver Oil soft gels for a different reason, I discovered that the constant pain in my eyes went away.

I take 2 or 3 Jarro-Dophilus capsules every day when I can remember (I keep them in the refrigerator, so I forget sometimes). It's better than eating yogurt to get the 'good bugs.' This is a no-brainer. I used to get canker sores all of the time before I took this. I still do once in a while when I forget to take at least one capsule a day, but the good thing is I can open a capsule and pour the contents into my mouth and keep the 'powder' on the canker sore for as long as I can and the sore is usually gone by the next day.

Vinetra is supposed to be like red wine in a capsule. You can get your resveratrol without the nasty alcohol. I'd like to take it every day, but I can't afford it right now. It seems like the economy is making people less likely to click on the ads on my web site, so Vinetra keeps getting cut from the list. If things start looking up for the country, my web site should start bringing in more money and then I should be able to afford Vinetra all of the time.
