Hello Moto!

Er, I mean Motos... ;)

This C64 release is a bit of an oddball. You see, it is an officially licensed Arcade conversion from Namco, yet it came from Mastertronic - a low budget tape label. Well, I don't know what the licensing fee actually was, but it definitely feels odd...

Another mystery is that Namco never put out a NES version of it, since they converted almost everything they had to the NES, even games as old as Dig Dug, Galaga or Pac-Man...

Anyway, the C64 version is a nice little fun game. Your mission is very simple: You're sitting on a platform and have to push every other being on there down from it.

There's two occasional extras worth collecting: Power pills making you stronger and wings enabling you to jump. The enemies get gradually stronger and nastier while playing, until after 28 levels it just loops.

Worth a look if you have an hour to kill I'd say :)

Some future day the "Playing..." series may see another Namco game in the form of "Pac-Land", but first it'll continue with something else...

Greetings,

Manuel

Sounds like one could make an Atari 2600 game out of this game idea, no?

Definitely, the thought had occurred to me as well. Several levels (approx. half of them) require more than 4 sprites though, so it'd probalby need intelligent flicker rather than a Rip-Off / Robot City 30Hz approach.
