While I do miss my grandparents, I am sure glad I got their condo with air conditioning. Today wasn't as bad as they said it was going to be (it actually got to be 90 instead of 95), but there still is a heat advisory for the central Willamette Valley. This 90-degree weather is expected to last through the 4th of July, which, by the way, me and mom are going over to my sister's house to have a BBQ and watch fireworks. This is my nephew's first 4th of July, and it would please me to not hear a baby cry while I'm watching them. I don't know about you, but I love the smell of fireworks. Here in Oregon, we have the puny little ones, while stuff like Roman candles are outlawed (the only state that does this...) except for the special Fireworks displays, like after the Salem-Keizer Volcanoes baseball game and stuff like that. The thing about crosswords: I used to make them for my grandma, I have a binder full of ones she had done, and over time, my crossword-making skills got better and better now to the point where I can maybe rival the ones you'd find in the newspaper. She was the one that got me hooked on the hobby, and I buy a few of those crossword puzzle books you find at the grocery store (yes, people actually buy them! ) So, it's safe to say that when she died, I was completely devastated, i lost one of my best friends. But life and death go on, i guess.
