Got my Starpath Supercharger in today! And it works GREAT!

I was able to locate a copy of "Stella's Got a New Brain" on underground-gamer.com where I have been a member just about as long as I have been a member here. Hooked up an ancient Rio CD player I have (it was state of the art years ago, before mp3 players because it - GASP - played data CDs!). Shooting for 12K on Communist Mutants from Space, not working on any of the other games currently and still barely exploring them.

Towering Inferno (2600): this will remain for my lifetime as one of my favorite games of all time. Honestly, it should be highly frustrating but I have no anger towards it, its just a good goddamn game! I have a 1403 on the emulator and weaker scores on the console but that's just bad luck. I just played a rare game WITHOUT videotaping it and got around 1100 on the console. Still shooting for 1500 on both.

Ghostbusters (SMS): In only two days I have made enormous strides on this title. I am playing for pure efficency, the TG variant is only for fastest completion, not points (dollars). I have a good strategy to move the first part of the game along at maximum speeds then you have to quickly go through three final levels, the last where you dispose of Gozer (the Gozerian). The first stage (Marshmellow Man) is quite simple. The 2nd is where I am stuck, probably 5-6 times I get taken down by a roamer throwing plates on the 3rd staircase. Thinking about doing some save states on my xbox SMS emu to get the hang of this tricky section. Eager to cop the Genesis version next, which is also fastest completion (and identical gameplay I believe). However it seems the Genesis port is a bit of a collectors item, going for $30 easily on ebay. One step at a time......

River Raid/Seaquest/Frostbite: the first two I still play everyday, with emphasis on RR. It's crazy to me how easily I score 30K even on a sloppy game now, that used to be a trophy game! Still haven't laid a 50K to tape, but still working at it.

Well this break is long enough. Back to the games!
