Mistigo Varggoth Darkestra
Well, I just paid for what should be the longest song I'll have for my collection yet. It should be one continuous track of 72 minutes. Anyone here have "The Keys To the Gates of Apocalypse" by the Mistigo Varggoth Darkestra? The eBay listing was labeled as "apocalypses", but how can there be more than one Apocalypse? And why do I keep wanting to spell it "apocolypse"? So I'll be having an eclectic collection here. I already have a few heavy metal CDs in my long songs collection, from bands such as Meshuggah, Norma Jean, and Opeth, but most is '70s prog rock. Well, anyway, it is coming all the way from Wind Gap, Pennsylvania, so it should be here next week or so. I pieced together Transatlantic's "The Whirlwind", and it came out to 77 minutes and 53 seconds. I think I'll start a "songs longer than an hour" review category. I have one more I pieced together from different tracks: "The Way Up" by Pat Metheny, which is 68 minutes. Yes, I think I shall do that. Tomorrow, expect a review of Transatlantic's "The Whirlwind," followed the next day by "The Way Up." and then sometime in the near future, "Keys To the Gates of Apocalypse." Anyone here have any albums from Bongripper? "The Great Barrier Reefer" and "Heroin" sound interesting.
