Getting A Bunch of Games This Week
In my last entry, I mentioned that I got some games for my Nintendo DS last week. I also started ordering some cheap games (some new, some used) that are for the last generation of game systems (GameCube, PS2, Xbox). This happened because I started getting interested in reading my reprint books of old comic books and that led to my interest in getting more super-hero video games and that led to a few others. I think I wound up ordering about 15 games. I actually only ordered one for the PS2 (Superman: Shadow of Apokolips) so the bulk will be GameCube and Xbox games. I think most of these are from 3rd party Amazon Marketplace sellers so most of my games will be coming one at a time. If they arrive scattered in time, there's a chance I could get at least one game each mail day this week. I received two games yesterday...
Teen Titans for the Gamecube...I wasn't even aware this game existed until I came across it and decided to order it. The reviews seemed to be good. It cost me less than $6.00 plus shipping. The game appears to be done in the style of the cartoon series they did of Teen Titans.
Superman Returns for the Xbox. I happened to look this up at GameRankings.com as I wanted to compare the ratings for the PS2 and the Xbox versions...neither got very high scores but the Xbox one got a bit higher. I also noticed this was one of the last 10 releases for the original Xbox. That led me to find and order a copy of the very last Xbox game (of course, it was a Madden game) and that led me to order another NFL game (NFL 2K5, which I remember liking but then gave away) and the last (I think) baseball game for the system, Major League Baseball 2K7. I have 2K6 for the GameCube so I hope it's a bit better than that one.
So what else do I have coming? There's Catwoman and the two Halo games (which, like NFL 2K5, I had before but gave away so I want new copies of) and Superman: The Man of Steel and maybe one or two others I have forgotten about. The first of this wave of incoming games actually arrived last week...these were Batman: Dark Tomorror for the Xbox and Batman: Rise of Sin Tzu for the GameCube. Are you sensing a pattern here? Yes, I'm only buying games featuring DC Comics heroes. I'm not so interested in the Marvel heroes though I do have some of them. Maybe I'll get a few more sometime...but not just yet.
