No e!
So I glanced at today's New York Times crossword puzzle today, and 60-across caught my attention. The clue: "Gilbert ___, author of 'A Void,' a 290-page novel without the letter E." Well, after a google, it turned out to be Adair. And said novel wasn't even originally in English. Weird guys like me might recall hearing about the French novel "La Disparation!" that doesn't use the letter E. Well, this is the English version, and it has, so far, four translators. I want to find this book and read it. I have also begun writing a novel that doesn't use the letter E. It's called "My Butt Hurts: A Story." I don't know exactly what it's about, but I finished the first page of it, I think if I wrote a page a day, that I could have it done in a little less than a year. I have no details about what it's about, but so far, it's about a man who works at a marshmallow factory named Chris. If I find a publisher, I'm going to make a pen name because my last name contains an E. Why didn't I have parents with no E in their last name?! Well, anyway, you can look at my progress here. It's hard not using that certain letter, but I have an easy way of checking if I have accidentally did: CTRL+F (the find option, I can't find it using Word's dumb toolbar) and type in the lone letter "e." Since I'm not using the letter E, I cannot use the word "the." or anything with the suffix "-ed". Thankfully, the suffix "ing" doesn't have an e, or else I would be in big trouble. Well, I'm planning to hit a bookstore on Saturday before I get my badly needed haircut, so here's to hoping I can find a book (there are four of them, all different translations of the original French work, although I don't plan on getting "Vanish'd!" by John Lee, because that's just plain cheating!)
