Ink cartridge day

So it was either a new game or ink cartridges to buy. I chose the ink cartridges. I had needed a blue one for a long time now, and right after I put in the blue one, it says I need yellow and red. Good thing I bought all three colors in one pack. Stupid printer. I hate it. I did a head cleaning, and for the most part it prints ok except for a line here or there that doesn't quite put enough in on it to be fully readable. I can make the letters out OK, but it just looks cheap and stupid. Oh well, I guess it's fine for now, seeing as how I only needed to print 6 pages (my E-less novel so far.) About that, I don't really enjoy doing it, it's just something that I think I should do because the world needs another novel without the letter E in it. There's only three of them. But I did a full page worth's early this morning (it was about 3am when I finished, 2am when I woke up.) and now the word count is at 4,017. Another 983 words and I'm 1/10th of the way finished with it (my goal is 50,000.) Eric said I should save this for the November writing month thing, but I don't think I could make 50,000 words in one month. I'm only about one week in and wrote a little over 4,000 words, so I doubt I could do 50,000 in a month. I'll wait another day or two to replace those two other ink cartridges. I don't want to waste too much ink.

A couple years ago I replaced my inkjet with a color laser (the Dell 1250c is on sale for $180) and haven't regretted it for a minute. The problem with the inkjet is I never used it often it enough to keep the ink from drying and clogging. And laser prints don't run if they get wet.

The downside of the laser is the initial cost and the higher cost of replacement cartridges. But each cartridge will do over a thousand pages so they last much longer (especially since they don't dry out). So it's a bigger ouch, but much less frequently.
