I got another idea for a crossword theme. It took me a few hours, but I made another 13x13 crossword. I wonder how to send them in. There's this crossword puzzle magazine called "Superb Crosswords Jumbo," one of the few crossword magazines that has 13x13 ones. That's how I got started making the smaller themed ones (I had usually made 15x15 themed ones.) I am going to amass a whole bunch of them, pick out the best ones, and maybe send them into the magazine. I know, they probably won't take them anyway, but I figured it's worth a try. But before I do anything, I have to figure out how. Right now, I have a blank 13x13 square I made in Paint, and fill in the black squares and number the white ones that need it, then I save it and paste it in a Word document, the same program I use to construct the crosswords using tables. I've made 29x29 crosswords before, which is really hard work. It takes me a long time to think up an answer that long, then put it in the middle and construct around it, then number it (especially hard when I've made a mistake!) then there's an extra step. When I'm making the clues, if I used the same word twice, reconstruct the offending part. But that's a little too hard work, so I don't really do it that often. I don't know why I do this, nobody really does them. I just have fun doing it is all. I've also picked up work on Toobin' for the 2600 again.
