I have several others you didn't mention, but I can't put my hands on them right now because they're hiding somewhere in a stack of boxes-- Crazy Balloon (did I get the name right?), Hunchy 2(?), Skeleton+, a puzzle game (I can't remember the name right now), and others. There are *many* excellent homebrews to choose from! And if you happen to have a 7800, don't overlook the 7800 homebrews.

Medieval Mayhem (although, I can't really play this, I'm just one person.)

Medieval Mayhem has a one-player mode, which is actually very good.

 

As for recommendations, I'm partial to Reindeer Rescue, which is a scrolling platformer. Fall Down is excellent, although not strictly a platformer. And I think Four Play is a great translation of Connect Four (a puzzle game of sorts).

For puzzle games i'd recommend:

 

AStar

Okie Dokie

Jammed

 

All 3 are pretty challenging (IMO) and have enough puzzles to keep you busy for quite a while.
