Silent Movies
I had ordered Birth of a Nation (1915) and the Mark of Zorro (1920) and they still haven't come yet. I have The Hunchback of Notre Dame (spelled "Norte Dame" on the disc. I guess it wasn't a good enough movie to get the name right!), Phantom of the Opera, Metropolis, and the Cabinet of Dr. Caligari, as well as 14 hours' worth of Charlie Chaplin shorts. Somewhere around the house, I have a couple I taped off of TMC, and the Lost World. I don't know why, but I just find it fascinating to watch footage that old. I'm going to be watching Dr. Caligari tonight. I'd like to get something about the Keystone Kops, too, but I don't know if they have any DVDs of those. (you know, they based the Atari 2600 game off of it). Earlier today at about 1am, I went to sleep. At around 3:30am I was awakened by the sound of the power going out! I tried to go back to sleep but I couldn't, so I tried to fix another lamp using a flashlight (and did), as well as play some Virtual Boy Wario Land. At 5:30am or so, the power came back on! My beloved electricity has returned! So that's my day, although I would like to know what caused the power to go out at such an odd time.
