Cheapy Halloween SFX CDs
I got to wondering how poorly made these things are, so I bought a couple. This was a few years ago, and I stumbled across them recently and gave one a spin. This particular one I'm "reviewing" is called Horror Sounds by an unlikely source: Easter Unlimited. (I guess you can't put out an Easter CD because rabbits don't make any noise.) This thing has 76 tracks, ranging from a few seconds to a few minutes. At the end is what they call "Horror Sounds Compilation" which runs about 16 minutes long. You can tell this one's low budget. Some of the shorter tracks are of a man screaming, a woman screaming, fake maniacal laughter, etc. Two of the more interesting tracks are music: an original organ composition along with the intro to Toccate in D Minor. There're three Satanic Sermons, which sound like they come from the Satanic Bible or something, along with a couple of storm sounds. Makes me wonder whether I can put together something like this. Well, anyway, I'm heading to the beach tomorrow for two nights, so I won't be able to access the internet. I have this jack-o-lantern-related collection, and there's this store in Lincoln City that sells holiday stuff year round (I wonder if it's still there.) I think the last time I went to the beach was 2002, so it's been awhile. And so I won't be able to read PMs of people trying to sell me Odyssey2 games, so don't get me wrong if I ignore you, it's because I can't access the internet at the beach. I wonder if I should get an iPhone or something...
