Life's a beach...
Hi, I just got back from spending two nights at Surftides in Lincoln City, Oregon. It's a hotel right next to the ocean, which the majority of hotels in the town are. Lincoln City is also home to the D River, the world's smallest river. The first night I couldn't sleep at all (diarrhea), and the second night I couldn't sleep at all either (insomnia). I slept for about three or four hours while Mom went out shopping, and that's the only sleep I got the whole time I was there. We went beachcombing a few times and found some cool agates and shells and rocks and stuff. Went to the outlet mall, I bought a few books, one is Latin Crosswords, and the other is a little book of crosswords (this other book is English.) I don't think I can do any of the Latin ones, I just thought it was cool and only $3. Went to the Christmas store, couldn't find anything to buy there, but I did find three jack-o-lanterns in this antique store, which I thought was rather odd. Having only 5 hours of sleep in the last 48 hours, you'd think I'd be tired, but I'm not as wiped out as I should be. I shot some home movies, but the last two were kind of jittery because I hadn't had much sleep. Both nights I thought it was extremely hot in the hotel room. I usually sleep with a fan on in my room at home, but I forgot to take it because I thought I wouldn't need it. How wrong I turned out to be! In the hotel room there was something interesting. A Bible (the Gideons had "placed" there.) Not that I'm a religious man, but in the front before the real boring part (read: the whole thing) there was John 3:16 in a whole bunch of different languages. Bored, I decided to do Rot-13 and Telephone (not that those are actual languages, mind you.) Well, anyway, minus the no sleep part, it was a good trip.
