Captain Bruce comic book
I've decided to go ahead and show everyone my (crappy) drawings of the comic book based on the game I'm planning for the Magnavox Odyssey. If you order one, you will get one. I've decided that since I have a bunch of unsold copies of Dodgeball that I'm only going to release 10 copies of this game. There will be a dozen total, one for me, and one already reserved. I guess if you want to reserve yours now you can, but I don't know how much the final product will cost. As it stands right now, the kit includes the following:
+game overlay (not made yet, but will be in the same style as Dodgeball)
+little 8-page comic book (copies not made yet)
+instruction sheet (copies not made yet, rules not yet final)
I don't know what other goodies I can pack in that would make sense. I want to put in a little miniature Australian flag, but I don't know where I would be able to find one, let alone a dozen. Maybe I'll compose and record a song and put it on an audio CD, although I don't know if it will be able to fit in a tube. I'll go check what size mailing tubes they have at Target before I do this after the holidays. And the tube will be covered with brown paper so all I'd need to do is wrap the tube up with brown paper and write the address on it. I'm thinking about getting some full-size sheet labels and putting them on the tube before I wrap it in brown paper so it will say, in the closest Odyssey font I could find, "Captain Bruce and His Cosmic Boomerang". I had been looking through past files on my computer and found that I had come up with this idea even before I released Dodgeball (which was in July, the first Cap'n files date May.) As for the comic book, I erased all my illegible handwriting and replaced it with text (I think I used the Arial font.) It's weird printing these things out and making them. First off, page 7 is right beside page 2. What I did was I made sure I wanted to make an 8-page one as opposed to, say, a 12-page one. Then I drew it as printed, which was weird because, as I said, page 7 is right beside page 2. I'm going to fold two 8.5 x 11 pages together and put two staples in the middle. And I hope to have this all done by about January/February. Then, once I get this mailed and stuff, work begins on the Odyssey 40th anniversary project...
