Word Zap
I saw the Game Boy game Word Zap reviewed in the first issue of Nintendo Power I ever got my hands on. My parents bought it for me because I was looking for a guide to Mario Paint (which I also have.) I didn't think much about it until I saw it at the used video game store. Out of curiosity, I got it. The object of the game is to create words with tiles with letters on them. You get a certain amount of tiles and make either 3, 4 or 5 letter words with them. The tiles are locked in Mahjong Solitaire-like fashion which makes the game even harder. So the only letters you can use in the screenshot below aren't the dark ones. I have been having lots of fun with this game since I bought it. I am one of the Scrabble-loving types, so if you love Scrabble, you'll love this game. It has a very big list of acceptable words, I was surprised it knew some of the more obscure words, the type that appear in crosswords a lot. (I tried to make "slut" though, but it wouldn't let me. It said it was unfamiliar with slut. So am I, computer, so am I.) So if you get the chance, love Scrabble, and are into puzzle games, this is a definite must get.
