A year of music
...is approximately 75 minutes, give or take a few. I've completely forgot about this project. Now I have about 8 months to compose approximately 67 minutes worth of music. Well, I don't HAVE to, but I want to. Mostly, I want to remember the darn project. Last year as a Christmas present, I gave my family 75 minutes' worth of instrumental music. I had a head start there, cuz I composed part 1 in 2007. So, "My Butt Hurts" parts 1-5 were done and put on a CD. I want to do "My Butt Hurts" parts 6-10 for this Christmas. It's just basically the same idea as Nine Inch Nails (read: Trent Reznor's) Ghosts project, except I actually work on mine, whereas he apparently quit at Ghosts IV, which is too bad because it was pretty music. So I went back to work. I like to do it in fragments of about a minute long each. Each "part" is about 15 minutes long. Today, I composed 7:12-8:29 of MBHp6. I just sat down at the computer with the keyboard on my lap (the one with notes, not the one you type with) and start to plunk out notes. Once I get a melody going, I then compose the other notes. I also drew p.3-4 of issue 2 of the SMB3 comic. I haven't scanned and colored them yet. So that's what I did to keep busy today.
