Quandorf
I'm hopping from game to game again. After running out if ideas for i, I have decided to work on my Qix-type game again. There are a few differences between Qix and my game, which I call "Quandorf,"
1. The qix (or, in this case, quandorf), moves randomly instead of going to where you are.
2. You can only draw straight lines, no jagged ones. This is due to me not being able to do correct math to enable jagged lines (and, since the playfield is so small, it can do without jagged lines.)
Apart from that, the game should be enough Qix-like to satisfy those who want a 2600 version of Qix. I've always wondered why there was no Qix on the 2600. If you can have one pixel-wide playfield blocks, then a 2600 Qix should IMO be possible. Even the 5200 has Qix. Don't get me wrong, I'd love to work in i again, but I ran out of ideas for what the i can do. If I think of any more, I'll work on it again. If you'd like to play it, I've attached the very latest (more recent than the post in the "Get your Qix?" thread in the bB forum) binary here. Please, if you have the means to, tell me if it works on real hardware. I've been wondering ever since I didn't put a drawscreen during the filling in part of the code. The "set debug cyclescore" went all black on me during the split second that the playfield is being filled in. There are 200 spots on the playfield for you to fill in, so that means for every 2 you fill in, 1% is filled in. The percentage number is the two-digit red number. And reset starts anew, as well as running into the quandorf while you're making a line.
